It has been officially one month since I moved to New York City. I have been dreaming of living in the hustle and bustle of the city since I was 5. But friends, we are no longer in North Carolina.

Here's what I've learned so far.

The F train sucks.

It's called the F train for a reason. It Fs me over every day. It's hot, sweat, and unreliable. Kind of like an ex boyfriend.

Drinks cost a million dollars.

There are no such things as $5 drinks here. At least I haven't found them yet. But then again, I should probably stop being bougie and going to rooftop bars in Meat Packing.

Grocery shopping is now a chore.

I have always hated going grocery shopping, but now its just excessive. Here's how it usually goes. Google "grocery store near me". Take subway. Realize you're going the wrong way. Transfer trains. Finally make it to the store. Shop. Get home to realize that your eggs are broken.

Pigeons are scary.

People that don't live in the city will say "they are more scared of you than you are of them." NOPE. I'm way more terrified. Pigeons will fly right into your head and then laugh and tell all their pigeon friends how loud you scream. Watch out for pigeons.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love it here. The people are rad, my job is baller, there is something fun to do everyday of the week, AND I get invited to cool events on a weekly basis. Moving to the city has been awesome so far. I still have a lot to learn, but I can't wait to share all my adventures in the crazy city.

With love,

Jenny from the block (now official)
