So it’s been a year and I’m a slacker. Clearly not a minor slacker, but a real slacker. The kind that literally takes a year to craft a blog post. I’m not a slacker in real life though. I swear. Unless it has to do with packing, unpacking, laundry, and apparently blog posts. But I’ll get better at that last one.
So here’s what I’ve figured out from the last time.
All trains suck. Not just the F.
Literally all of them. The L is just hilarious. The R should be retired. And yes, the F is still like an ex: hot, sweaty and unreliable
Drinks only cost a million dollars sometimes.
I still love a good rooftop bar, BUT I found the $5 drinks. They are in Brooklyn. I can wear jeans there. #yas
Grocery shopping is now a breeze.
At first, I’d take a train to the grocery store. Play bumper cars through the aisles of Trader Joe's. Compete with Cobble Hill moms in their head to toe Lululemon for the last bag of tri-colored quinoa. Wait in line. Schlep home while praying my bananas wouldn’t bruise. Now I order amazon fresh and sit on my couch watching MTV reality shows like the millennial I am. #LifeIsBreezy
Pigeons are still scary. Focus on puppies.
For every 10 gross pigeons, there is 1 adorable puppy. They are everywhere. People always let you pet them. End of story. Focus on the puppies, not the pigeons.
One year later and I’m in love. In love with the people, the energy, the lights, the constant running, and the overall day to day adventure of the city. I finally understand the I heart NY t-shirts.
TTFN,
Jenny from the block.
